This month our blogger spotlight lands on the incredible blog THE ONLINE STYIST created by friend of Fashion Bloodhound Amanda, make sure that you pop over to the site to get your fix of fashion – we’re ever so slightly obsessed with Amanda’s ‘shopping list’ and ‘style-list’ which Amanda kindly featured us in last month. We caught up with Amanda to ask her about everything fashion related…

What inspired you to start The Online Stylist? Having started blogging back in 2008, first with 39 And Counting and then Forty Not Out (renamed and launched as The Online Stylist in January 2011), I realised that all my posts were constantly focusing more on fashion. Since my mid-thirties, my love affair with fashion and style has grown so I decided to try and do something with this constantly evolving obsession! I wanted to make The Online Stylist a go-to place for woman of all ages who love fashion but also have a sense of reality about the whole thing.

What do people need to know about it? It's real fashion and style written from the perspective of a real woman - I think you can look good on any budget, no matter what your age or body shape. And with the blog and the Style Advice Service, I'm determined to prove it!

How would you describe your style? I would say my look veers more toward classic with a bit of an edge. I love statement shoes, beautiful handbags and statement jewellery. Having said that, I'm not afraid to try out a new trend in a way that’s appropriate to my age and body shape.

Where do you get your style inspiration? From magazines  - I devour InStyle, Marie Claire, Vogue and Grazia on a regular basis. I also get so much inspiration from other blogs - particularly personal style and street style blogs. What people do with fashion in the real world is so inspiring and it's usually not what they're wearing but how they wear it.

What is your most prized fashion possession at the moment? Ooh that would be my new Michael Kors Uptown Astor large shoulder tote in peanut... so beautiful! Michael Kors is one of my favourite designers... the ultimate in Manhattan luxe.

Views on Fashion Bloodhound: A fantastic idea! Selling pre-loved items and sourcing that all important, must-have, track it down now piece all in one place is brilliant. For the designer market it's great to be able to sell pieces on so that someone else can enjoy them, leaving you to find your next heart’s desire. People that own these items tend to love and care for them whether they own lots or just one or two.

If you could buy one item from Fashion Bloodhound what would you buy and why? A dangerous question if ever there was one. This Chanel biker jacket because it's absolutely gorgeous... and it's Chanel for goodness sake - no other reason needed!
